How to Check If Your Device Supports eSIM
On iPhone (iOS)
- Open Settings
- Tap Cellular (or Mobile Data)
- If you see "Add eSIM" or "Convert to eSIM", your device is compatible
- Alternatively, go to Settings > General > About and scroll to the bottom — look for "EID" (a 32-digit number that confirms eSIM hardware)
On Android (Samsung, Google, etc.)
- Open Settings
- Tap Connections (or Network & Internet)
- Tap SIM card manager (or Mobile network)
- If you see "Add eSIM" or "Download SIM", your device is compatible
- You can also dial *#06# — if an EID number appears alongside the IMEI, your phone has eSIM support
Dual-SIM Support
Most eSIM-compatible devices also support dual-SIM, which means you can use your EchoRoam eSIM for data while keeping your home SIM active for calls and SMS. This is especially useful if you need to receive two-factor authentication codes from your bank or email provider while traveling.
On iPhone, the second line will appear alongside your primary number under Settings > Cellular. On Samsung devices, you can manage both SIMs under Settings > Connections > SIM card manager.
Some newer devices (like iPhone 14 and 15 models sold in the US) are eSIM-only and do not have a physical SIM tray. These devices support multiple eSIM profiles simultaneously, so you can still use EchoRoam alongside your home carrier — both as eSIMs.
Tip: If you're unsure whether your device is compatible, purchase an EchoRoam plan and try scanning the QR code. If it doesn't work, we'll issue a full refund before activation — no questions asked.
